Greys Anatomy Star Caterina Scorsone Reveals The New Name Of Her New Daughter After Changing Her

Caterina Scorsone’s character on Grey’s Anatomy – Dr. Amelia Shepherd – just gave birth to a baby boy in the Season 16 finale, but the actress was actually pregnant in real life and she just welcomed a daughter in December.

When Scorsone and her husband, Rob Giles, welcomed the baby girl they revealed that they named her Arwen. But now, the actress says they have decided to call her by her middle name: Lucinda. Well, they are actually using a nickname and are calling their youngest daughter “Lucky.”

Scorsone posted a selfie where she was seated near a bookshelf with baby Lucky sleeping on her chest. In the caption, the 38-year-old actress wrote: “I love my baby. I love books. (By the way, we went with what was her middle name. Lucinda. ‘Lucky’ for short.)”

Scorsone revealed that she was pregnant last October just a few short weeks before she gave birth. She announced the news via an Instagram post that featured herself, Giles, and their two older daughters (Eliza, 7, and Pippa, 3) dressed up as the Addams Family for Halloween.

Since she’s been self-isolating at home with her daughters, Scorsone has been posting numerous pics with them as they play, take naps, and spend time with each other.

“Are you cuddling the ones you love?” asked Scarsone in the caption of a candid shot of her and the girls laughing.

Before production for Grey’s Anatomy was shut down because of COVID-19, Scorsone was posting pics of herself breastfeeding on set and she praised show creator Shonda Rhimes for creating a “feminist infrastructure” at her workplace which supports working women, families, children, and their development.

In the past, Scorsone told People magazine that Rhimes was “carving a path” for working moms, and she was able to bring Pippa to work “every day” when she was just a few months old. She explained that Rhimes was showing everyone that women need to have options.

Grey’s Anatomy is expected to return to ABC this fall for Season 17 if they can begin production this summer. Of course, the novel coronavirus pandemic will determine if that can happen.
